Google has created a scholarship programme called Generation Google Scholarship to help students who desire to pursue degrees in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical discipline in college.

Generation Google Scholarship (APAC)

The Generation Google Scholarship (APAC) was created to aid students from APAC region seeking computer science degrees in becoming leaders in their area and excelling in technology. For the year 2023–2024, chosen students will earn USD 2,500.

Deadline to Apply: May 16, 2023 at 2:59 PM SGT or once 3,000 qualified application responses have been received.

Scholarship Amount: 2,500 USD

Generation Google Scholarship (EMEA)

The Generation Google Scholarship (EMEA) was created to aid students from Europe, Middle East or Africa seeking computer science degrees in becoming leaders in their area and excelling in technology.

Deadline to Apply: May 16, 2023 at 6:59 AM GMT or once 3,000 qualified application responses have been received.

Scholarship Amount: Varies by scholarship

Generation Google Scholarship (North America)

The Generation Google Scholarship (North America) was created to aid students from United States and Canada seeking computer science degrees in becoming leaders in their area and excelling in technology.

Deadline to Apply: May 19, 2023 at 3:00 PM CT or once 3,000 qualified application responses have been received.

Scholarship Amount: 10,000 USD or 5,000 CAD

Apply to the scholarship based on your region.

Application Process

You will be required to submit an online application that asks you to provide:

  • General background information (e.g. contact information and details about your current and intended universities)
  • Resume/CV
  • Academic transcripts from your current institution (and prior, if applicable)
  • Responses to short answer essay questions
  • Family and household information (Only for North America)
  • One letter of recommendation (Only for North America)

Please have the following files prepared for upload before beginning the application:

  • a PDF version of your resume; if available, please list any leadership roles, extracurricular activities, and initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • a PDF copy of your most recent or current transcript, which can be unofficial.

The strength of each applicant’s dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as their demonstrated leadership skills and academic achievement, will determine which candidates get the scholarship.

The scholarship money must be used to pay for the students’ primary university’s tuition, fees, books, supplies, and other necessities for their classes.
